Avalon Dance and Fitness was originally founded in 2010. Current owner Peter Walker took over in October 2014 and has created a thriving dance community here in Belmont.
Avalon which rebranded to Avalon Dance Productions in 2019 offers private ballroom dance lessons for all levels from wedding couples first dance, social dancing and competitive level dancing from amateur to professional.
Located at 173 Belmont St, Belmont it’s accessible by train into Waverley or the 173 bus that goes to and from Harvard. Avalon also has designated parking spaces and ample street parking.

Peter is fantastic! I was looking for someone to choreograph the first dance and the father daughter dance for my wedding. I had no idea where to start but the location of Peter’s studio could not have been more convenient, so I decided to give him a call - and I am definitely glad I did! I reached out about 2 months before the wedding, which meant timing was a little tight. Peter was super flexible and worked with me to make sure we could fit in enough lessons. My dad and husband had next to no dancing experience but Peter was a great teacher and made us all feel so comfortable learning the steps. The choreography was perfect for both songs - Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You by Frankie Valli and The Way You Look Tonight (Harry Connick Jr version) - and our guests were beyond impressed when we finally showed off our moves at the wedding! I cannot recommend Peter enough!!
